Important Note

  1. Synology Drive will discontinue support for generating HEIC/HEIF thumbnails and previews on Synology NAS through Advanced Media Extensions (AME), as most end devices now support the HEVC (H.265) codec. This change helps reduce server-side load and unnecessary resource usage. Please refer to this article for workarounds.

Synology Drive Admin Console

  3. Supports opening specific categories on the Synology Drive web portal, such as "My Drive", "Team Folder", or "Shared with me".
  4. Supports selecting multiple files and opening each in a new tab. Please note that this function may depend on the pop-up window settings of the user's browser.
  5. Supports clearing messages in the Notification Center.
  6. Improved the speed of freeing up space after users reduced the number of historical versions.

  2. Fixed an issue where changing user nicknames on the web portal might not take effect immediately.

Compatibility and Installation

  1. Synology Drive Server 3.0 and above no longer support Cloud Station Suite applications. If you are using any Cloud Station Suite applications (Cloud Station Server, Cloud Station Drive, Cloud Station Backup, Cloud Station ShareSync, or DS cloud), you must switch to their counterparts in the Synology Drive Suite to ensure compatibility.
  2. Connected Synology Drive client applications, including Synology Drive Client and Synology Drive ShareSync, must be updated to version 3.0 or above to ensure compatibility.
  3. To preview HEIC files and for enhanced browsing experience in Synology Drive, we recommend installing Advanced Media Extensions in Package Center.
