Synology Drive Admin Console

  1. Improved the indexing performance to shorten the time it takes to index team folders.
  2. Added "Last Connected" time in the "Client List" page to better monitor the connection status of client devices.

Synology Drive (Web Portal)

  1. Supports uploading/creating folders or files by right-clicking on blank space.

Compatibility and Installation

  1. Only Synology Drive Client 3.1 and above versions are compatible with this version of Synology Drive Server.
  2. The Universal Viewer package will be automatically installed when user installs or updates to Synology Drive Server 3.1.

What's New

Synology Drive Admin Console

  1. Supports converting the indexing scope of "My Drive" from "/home/Drive" to "/home". For newly installed Synology Drive Server, this setting is applied by default. Learn more

  2. Supports exporting sharing link reports that include detailed information about all sharing links in the selected folders. This function is located in the Sharing tab in Settings.

  3. Supports displaying the software versions of client devices in the Client List.
  4. Restructured the sharing configuration page in Settings for better user experience.
  5. Supports only exporting logs that have been filtered.

Synology Drive ShareSync

  1. Revamped the connection setup flow to enhance user experience.
  2. Added support to keep locally deleted files on the remote server when selecting the "Upload data to the remote Synology Drive server only" option.

Synology Drive (web portal)

  1. Revamped the mobile sharing page, allowing users to browse shared files directly via browsers on mobile devices.
  2. Modified the default keyword search to be restricted to file names only. Searching within file contents is only enabled when the option is ticked in advanced search.

  2. Fixed an issue where pausing and then resuming file uploads from Synology Drive Client creates temp files that could not be removed.

Important Notes

  1. The public sharing function in the Permission tab is moved to the Public Link (previously named Advanced Protection Link) tab to strengthen security settings.
  2. The option "Utilize unused memory as database cache to improve search performance" is removed on models with less than 2 GB of memory to prevent accidental memory shortage and system failure.

Compatibility and Installation

  1. Synology Drive Server 3.0 and above no longer support Cloud Station Suite applications. If you are using any Cloud Station Suite applications (Cloud Station Server, Cloud Station Drive, Cloud Station Backup, Cloud Station ShareSync, or DS cloud), you must switch to their counterparts in the Synology Drive Suite to ensure compatibility.
  2. Connected Synology Drive client applications, including Synology Drive Client and Synology Drive ShareSync, must be updated to version 3.0 or above to ensure compatibility.
  3. To preview HEIC files and for enhanced browsing experience in Synology Drive, we recommend installing Advanced Media Extensions in Package Center.
  4. Updated to be compatible with DSM 7.0.

  1. Enhanced the dashboard in Synology Drive Admin Console to provide detailed package information:

  2. Provides more granular file-sharing settings for administrators, including enforcing password protection and expiration date protection when sharing files publicly, disallowing users to share files publicly or internally, or only allowing specific users or groups to share files publicly.
  3. Enhanced event logs to provide detailed information about file changes, such as file sharing and restoration.
  4. Supports transferring file ownership to other users to prevent data loss.
  5. Supports displaying nicknames instead of usernames to identify users more easily in Synology Drive web portal.
  6. Supports enabling Synology Hybrid Share folder as Team Folder to access files via Synology Drive, providing the option to use C2 Storage bandwidth directly when accessing files over the Internet.
Synology Drive Web Portal
  1. Supports listing publicly shared files in "Shared with others" tab for easy file link management.
  2. Supports previewing file contents (such as PDF, TXT, JPEG, ZIP) without downloading them.
  3. Supports displaying personal storage usage in Settings.
  4. Enhanced the search function by changing the default search settings from "search all locations" to "search in current location" and by providing location labels in search box for better display.
  5. Supports zooming in file preview to 800%.
  6. Supports previewing .psd files of up to 500 MB in size.
Synology Drive ShareSync
  1. Supports syncing homes folder to facilitate cross-office collaboration.
