Release Notes for Safe Access

Safe Access integrates advanced parental control and security functions. With Safe Access, you can not only supervise users' Internet behavior, set Internet schedules and time quotas, but also apply web filters to protect certain users and guard all devices in your local network by blocking dangerous websites.

Compatibility & Installation

  1. Safe Access 1.3.1-0326 requires SRM 1.3.1 or above.

Important Note

  1. Increased the maximum number of award times that can be set in a single day from 12 hours to 23 hours.
  2. Enabled by default the option "Do not allow client devices to use DoH server" to prevent clients from bypassing website filtering.

What's New

  1. Updated to support VLAN-related functions.
  2. Supports automatic rotation of outdated logs.
  3. Supports manual deletion of all logs.
  4. Supports DuckDuckGo's Safe Search option.

Compatibility & Installation

  1. Safe Access is compatible with SRM 1.2 and above.
  2. Safe Access integrates all functions of Parental Control. After upgrading to SRM1.2, Parental Control will be replaced and related settings will be safety migrated to Safe Access. Learn more
  3. Safe Access is recommended to be used on DS router 1.2 for most complete functions.

    Limitation and Known Issues

    1. Bing Safe Search is not supported in the IPv6 environment.
    2. RT1900ac is not suppoted in an IPv6 environment.
    3. If a Synology Router is set up in the local network of another Synology Router, the block page of web filters and network protection might not be displayed correctly.
    4. In Wireless AP Mode, the uplink must be connected to the WAN port.
    5. Safe Access is not supported in a Local Network where a DNS Server is set up.
