Synology® Appoints New CEO

Taipei, Taiwan—January 16, 2012—Synology® today announced that Vic Hsu has been named Chief Executive Officer of the company, effective February 1. Hsu succeeds Derren Lu, who will transit to a new role in the company and focus on business development in strategic regions.

“Vic has contributed extensively since his affiliation,” said Philip Wong, the Chairman of Synology Inc. “He is able to spot surging IT trend and maneuver our solution in accordance with market's needs. We welcome Vic as the new CEO and we believe under his guidance Synology will continue delivering great value for our users,” Wong added.

As the Director of Synology, Hsu was formerly responsible for the company's software research and development, including the award-winning and forward-thinking DiskStation Manager (DSM) operating system. He is an 11-year veteran in this industry, having joined Synology in year 2000 as a software engineer.
