Synology® Disk Station DS107+ Held in the Arms of CHIP Magazine, Germany
Taipei, Taiwan—September 3, 2008—The Synology® Disk Station DS107+ received the 1st place and the "Test Winner" award among 14 reviewed NAS products in the latest group test conducted by CHIP Magazine, Germany. In the meantime, the Synology Disk Station DS108j, an economic version of Synology NAS product line, won the 3rd place, while another sibling, the Synology Disk Station DS207+, took the 7th – making Synology the sole brand that occupied 3 slots on the top 10 chart.
Synology DS107+’s journey of honor from the CHIP Magazine can be traced back to October 2007 when it first debuted in the Magazine’s "CHIP Top 10" chapter. The model easily took over the "Test Winner" award in the NAS product section leading Mr. Christophe Giese, editor at the time, to his following comment: "No other NAS devices has offered such complete and idea-rich equipment" and to give Synology DS107+ the title of "Perfekte Netzwerkzentrale"(Perfect Network Center). Since then, the Synology DS107+ has been wearing the laurels for over 11 months. The "User Testing" campaign that attracted 20 CHIP readers to participate in starting from January also let Synology DS107+ go home with the "Sehr Gut"(Very Good) award after a consecutive 6 months of intense user’s testing.
Reputation solidifies itself from continuous rigid examinations. Aside from functionality and performance, the two traditionally used review standards for NAS products performance, noise level and power consumption were taken into consideration in this 1-bay and 2-bay NAS test on the 09/2008 issue of CHIP Magazine. Synology DS107+ was once again awarded with the following compliment from CHIP’s editorial team, "Thanks to the very intuitive and logically structured management UI, the 1-bay Synology (DS107+) is the winner of the test. The equipment leaves no feature to be desired, and the performance is very satisfactory."
"We don’t take any of these honors given by CHIP magazine for granted," said Edward Lin, Marketing Director of Synology, "instead, we will keep developing novel features and products to make users’ digital content sharing more efficient. This glory will continue to sparkle to a much farther extent."
