Synology® introduces RackStation RS1226+ and RS1226RP+ designed for growing edge and remote environments
Bellevue, WA —August 5, 2026—Synology today launched the RackStation RS1226+ and RS1226RP+, two 2U 8-bay storage systems engineered for small and medium-sized businesses requiring compact, reliable data management. Featuring a short-depth chassis, both models are ideal for space-constrained environments such as branch offices and network closets.
"Modern remote offices need storage solutions that offer high performance and capacity without increasing management complexity," said Julien Chen, Product Manager at Synology. "The RS1226+ and RS1226RP+ provide growing teams with a highly dependable foundation that ensure rapid file access and uninterrupted workflows."
Built for demanding workloads
The RS1226+ and RS1226RP+ deliver sequential read and write speeds of over 2,300/1,500 MB/s1. New to this generation, built-in 2.5GbE ports and M.2 NVMe slots ensure faster network transfers and rapid SSD caching for demanding applications, with optional 10/25GbE connectivity available for higher-bandwidth environments.2
The systems are designed to scale with business growth from 8 to up to 12 drive bays with Synology RX426 expansion unit. Dual power supplies keep the RS1226RP+ running through unexpected outages, while hot-swappable drive trays and online volume management let both models stay online during maintenance and upgrades.
Versatile Features for Business Workloads
Powered by Synology's DiskStation Manager (DSM), the RS1226+ and RS1226RP+ provide a wide range of integrated tools for modern business environments.
Synology Drive transforms the system into a private cloud, enabling cross-platform access and site-to-site syncing for distributed teams.
Synology Virtual Machine Manager and Container Manager provide VM storage, backup, and hosting, fully certified for VMware®, Hyper-V®, Citrix®, and OpenStack, and enable lightweight VMs or containers for testing, sandboxing, and emergency recovery.
Synology Tiering improves storage efficiency by automatically moving infrequently accessed data between performance and capacity tiers, helping organizations optimize storage costs. With the Storage Efficiency features in DSM 7.4, Synology HDD and SSD solutions help organizations store up to 3.5x more data on the same footprint while maintaining reliable performance and simplified management.3
Availability
The RS1226+ and RS1226RP+ will be available starting July 22, 2026, through Synology's network of partners and resellers worldwide. For more information, visit the RS1226(RP)+ product page.
