Synology® launches RS11626xs+ for organizations requiring petabyte-scale enterprise storage

Singapore — August 26, 2026 — Synology today launched the RS11626xs+, a 3U 20-bay high-performance storage system engineered for organizations managing petabyte-scale, rapidly growing data in mission-critical environments.

An unique hardware architecture designed for accelerated data growth

The RS11626xs+ features sixteen 3.5"/2.5" drive bays and four dedicated 2.5" SSD bays in a 3U chassis. It scales non-disruptively up to 116 bays and over 2.6 PB of raw capacity¹ with eight RX1222sas expansion units². Two internal M.2 NVMe slots run DiskStation Manager in RAID 1, keeping OS activity off the data path so the system can sustain up to 895,000/234,000 4K random read/write IOPS and 10,500/8,200 MB/s sequential throughput³ under demanding enterprise workloads.

Dual built-in 10GbE ports support Link Aggregation for automatic failover, and optional 10GbE/25GbE SFP+/SFP28 or Fibre Channel adapters⁴ are available as workloads grow. Redundant power supplies and SAS multipath expansion connectivity keep the system running through component failures. Paired units can run Synology High Availability for minute-level cluster recovery.

• Synology Tiering optimizes storage utilization by automatically moving infrequently accessed data between performance and capacity tiers.
