Synology streamlines C2 portfolio to prioritize hybrid cloud; introduces C2 OneStorage for unified resource management
Taipei, Taiwan — May 22, 2026 — Synology today announced a strategic realignment of its C2 cloud ecosystem, centered on the launch of C2 OneStorage. This new approach optimizes resource management for organizations, ensuring their cloud investments are dynamically aligned with evolving deployment priorities.
"Our goal is to provide a seamless hybrid cloud foundation that evolves with our customers' needs," said Bie-I Chu, Executive Vice President at Synology. "By consolidating our C2 services, we are eliminating the administrative complexities, empowering organizations to direct their resources toward core operations and long-term infrastructure agility."
C2 OneStorage unifies storage subscriptions
The new C2 OneStorage consolidates C2 Storage for Hyper Backup and Hybrid Share and C2 Object Storage into a single, streamlined subscription. This transition eliminates the need for separate plans while enabling organizations to dynamically allocate cloud capacity across multiple solutions, maximizing resource utilization.
Strategic realignment and portfolio refocusing
To ensure resources remain dedicated to addressing the customers' most pressing infrastructure challenges, Synology is repositioning its C2 portfolio to prioritize hybrid cloud and business-critical workloads.
Under this strategic shift, C2 Identity and Active Insight will sharpen their focus on enterprise-grade access management and operational visibility; as a result, freemium tiers for these services will no longer be available for new registrations and will be phased out for existing users.
In addition, C2 Transfer and C2 Password will transition to end-of-life (EoL) status. New subscriptions will no longer be accepted, while existing services will remain active through their remaining subscription terms.
Full visibility with the new Synology Account
A newly redesigned Synology Account will serve as the central hub for the C2 ecosystem. The portal provides administrators with a comprehensive view of their Synology resources, enabling unified management of system and package licenses, active devices, services, and partner relationships.
While the new interface enhances operational oversight, current subscription workflows will remain intact to ensure a smooth transition with no disruption to active services.
Availability
The strategic updates and service transitions detailed above will officially take effect on June 22, 2026. This includes the global rollout of Synology C2 OneStorage and the redesigned Synology Account portal.
In line with these strategic updates, Synology will introduce revised pricing models to reflect the consolidated value of the C2 ecosystem. Existing users will receive direct notifications outlining specific migration policies and transition support to ensure a seamless experience for all impacted C2 services.
