Synology extends local AI search to Seagate One Touch® portable hard drive users

Taipei, Taiwan — October 15, 2026 — Synology today announced a collaboration with Seagate Technology (NASDAQ: STX), a leading innovator in mass-capacity data storage. Customers purchasing eligible One Touch^® portable hard drives can receive six months of access to Synology Deep Search.Available for Windows and macOS, Synology Deep Search enables natural language file search across local computers and connected external drives. Users can locate documents and photos by describing content or visual details. All indexing and processing run on-device, helping keep personal data private and under the user's control.

Synology is committed to making AI-powered data management practical and accessible while keeping data privacy at the forefront. Through this collaboration with Seagate, users can more easily discover and make use of the data stored on their personal devices and external drives, without needing to upload their files to the cloud.
