Synology® introduces RackStation RS1626xs+ designed to foster reliability and performance

Taipei, Taiwan—May 27, 2026—Synology today announced the RS1626xs+, a 1U rackmount system designed to deliver enterprise-grade performance and reliability in a compact form factor.

"RS1626xs+ builds on a series that has been widely adopted for edge deployments, branch offices, and departmental environments, as well as by small and medium-sized businesses. It is well suited for file services, collaboration workloads, and virtual machine storage." said Susan Yen, Product Manager at Synology. "With built-in M.2 NVMe SSD cache slots, it accelerates file access and collaboration workflows, enabling teams to work more efficiently."

Enterprise-Grade power in a 1U form factor

The RS1626xs+ is built for demanding workloads. Powered by a 6-core Intel® Xeon® D-1726 CPU, it delivers over 352,000/85,000 4K random read/write IOPS. Dual 10GbE ports and a PCIe 4.0 slot for 10/25GbE or Fibre Channel upgrades enable high-speed connectivity, while two M.2 2280 slots enable SSD caching to reduce latency.

Beyond performance, this 1U rackmount system offers strong scalability and reliability. Starting as a 4-bay unit, it can expand to 16 bays with the RX1225RP. For maximum uptime, it features dedicated OOB management, hot-swappable redundant power supplies, and redundant fans, providing businesses with a robust storage foundation that remains online during maintenance or hardware events.

Versatile features for business workloads

Powered by Synology's DiskStation Manager (DSM), RS1626xs+ offers versatile features to meet diverse business data management needs.

  • Synology Drive transforms the system into a private cloud, enabling cross-platform access and site-to-site syncing for distributed teams.

  • Synology Virtual Machine Manager and Container Manager provide VM storage, backup, and hosting, fully certified for VMware®, Hyper-V®, Citrix®, and OpenStack, and enable lightweight VMs or containers for testing, sandboxing, and emergency recovery.

  • Synology Tiering improves storage efficiency by automatically moving infrequently accessed data between performance and capacity tiers, helping organizations optimize storage costs.

Availability

The RS1626xs+ will be available starting May 26, 2026, through Synology's network of partners and resellers worldwide. For more information, visit the RS1626xs+ product page.
