Synology expands all-flash enterprise storage lineup with the new FlashStation® FS6420

Taipei, Taiwan—29 July—Synology today announced the FlashStation FS6420, the newest addition to its all-flash server lineup. Delivering exceptional throughput, it is designed for performance-intensive workloads, including virtual machine storage and protection, file synchronization, and business application hosting.

"The FS6420 meets the increasing need for fast, responsive storage in data-intensive environments," said Susan Yen, Product Manager at Synology. "With unified NAS and SAN capabilities, it provides a flexible storage platform for organizations running a wide range of workloads without the complexity of managing separate infrastructures."

All-flash enterprise performance and proven reliability

Built for high-concurrency workloads, the FS6420 delivers over 929,000/257,000 4K random read/write IOPS1. It comes equipped with dual 10GbE ports and supports optional 25GbE or Fibre Channel network adapters, enabling seamless integration into modern high-speed infrastructures2.

Beyond performance, the FS6420 includes a comprehensive set of availability features designed to ensure service continuity and safeguard critical data. Dedicated out-of-band (OOB) management, network failover and load balancing, hot-swappable redundant power supplies, and support for high-availability clustering help maintain uninterrupted operations during routine maintenance and unexpected outages.

Versatile features for business workloads

Powered by DiskStation Manager (DSM), FS6420 offers a comprehensive suite of features designed to meet the evolving data management needs of any business.

  • Synology Virtual Machine Manager and Container Manager provide VM storage, backup, and hosting, fully certified for VMware®, Hyper-V®, Citrix®, and OpenStack, and enable lightweight VMs or containers for testing, sandboxing, and emergency recovery.

  • Synology Tiering optimizes storage economics by automatically moving infrequently accessed data between performance and capacity tiers, helping organizations optimize storage costs.

  • Synology Drive transforms the system into a private cloud, enabling cross-platform access and site-to-site syncing for distributed teams.

Availability

The FS6420 will be available starting 29 July, 2026, through Synology's network of partners and resellers worldwide. For more information, visit the FS6420 product page.
