Synology Expands DiskStation Lineup with DS1825+

Taipei, Taiwan—8 July 2025—Synology today announced the launch of the new DiskStation model, the DS1825+, designed to provide businesses with compact, high-performance storage solution that scale with their evolving needs.

Superb Performance and Scalability

DS1825+ comes equipped with dual built-in 2.5GbE ports, providing robust network connectivity out of the box. Additionally, the system feature two M.2 slots, allowing users to create an all-flash storage pool for high-performance applications or leverage them for SSD cache to boost read/write speeds.

The DS1825+ elevates connectivity by incorporating a PCIe 3.0 slot to support 10GBASE-T or high-speed 10/25Gb SFP+/SFP28 adapter cards, ensuring optimal data transfer rates for demanding applications.

In performance testing, the DS1825+ achieves SMB sequential throughput with SSDs of up to 2,239 MB/s read and 1,573 MB/s write.

The system is engineered for scalability, supporting capacity expansion with the addition of up to two 5-bay DX525 expansion units. This allows businesses to easily increase their storage capacity as their data requirements grow, providing a future-proof solution for long-term storage needs. The DS1825+ provides up to 360 TB¹ of raw storage when fully expanded.

The DS1825+ is engineered as a full-featured system to deliver consistent performance and reliability with compatible hard drives. It follows a carefully curated drive compatibility framework, backed by over 7,000 hours of rigorous testing. 

Versatile Features for Business Workloads

Powered by Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM), the DS1825+ offers a wide range of tools for business data management:

• Synology Drive transforms the system into a private cloud with cross-platform file access and site-to-site syncing.
• Active Backup Suite provides centralized backup for Windows, Linux, macOS devices, virtual machines, and cloud services, with flexible off-site options.
• Surveillance Station enables scalable video management and real-time intelligent analytics to safeguard physical assets.
