Compatibility and Installation

  1. Secure SignIn Service is compatible with DSM 7.0 and above.

What's New

  1. Secure SignIn Service enhances DSM account security and usability. Users can now sign in without entering their passwords. For strengthened account protection, users can adopt 2-factor authentication using OTP or other newly available sign-in methods as the second sign-in step.
    • Supports FIDO2-compliant hardware security keys.
    • Supports tapping a button on mobile devices to approve DSM sign-in requests. The Approve sign-in function is only supported by Synology Secure SignIn mobile app, which is available on iOS and Android platforms.
  2. Sends push notifications via Synology Secure SignIn mobile app when abnormal account logins occur.
  3. To learn more, please refer to the technical specifications.

Limitations

  1. The compatibility of hardware security keys may vary by manufacturer and model. Please refer to the compatibility list for more information.
  2. Due to different mechanisms used by Safari and Chrome, the Touch ID (built-in key on Mac computers) registered with Safari on macOS does not work with Chrome, and vice versa. If you need to sign in with Touch ID across browsers, set up Touch ID in DSM separately on both browsers.
  3. To receive the full functionalities of Synology Secure SignIn mobile app, users must sign in to Synology Account in DSM.
