In Action Rule > List, you can add, edit, enable, disable, and delete action rules.
Action Rule Setup
Action rules come in two types: triggered and scheduled.
- Triggered rules are executed when the set event conditions are met.
- Scheduled rules are executed according to schedule.
When different action rules trigger the same actions at the same time:
- Triggered rules have higher priority than scheduled rules.
- Manually executed actions have higher priority than event-triggered actions.
To add a triggered action rule:
- Click Add.
- In the Information page, configure the following and click Next.
- Enter the Name.
- Select Triggered from Rule type.
- Select an option from Action type.
- Interruptible: If a rule is triggered when another rule is in action, stop the original rule and execute the new rule.
- Uninterruptible: If a rule is triggered when another rule is in action, ignore the new rule and continue to execute the original rule.
- In the Event page, configure the required settings and click Next.
- Settings:
- Logical operator: Determine when to trigger the action if you add multiple events.
- AND: Trigger action if all events occur within 30 seconds.
- OR: Trigger action when any one of the events occurs.
- Interval: Specify how often to execute the action for continuous events.
- Logical operator: Determine when to trigger the action if you add multiple events.
- Event: To add multiple events, click Add.
- Event source: Select Surveillance Station or other types of devices.
- Device: Select the specific device where the event may occur.
- Event: Select the trigger event. (Available events)
- Trigger type:
- One time: When the specified event occurs, trigger the action once.
- Constant: If the specified event is continuous, trigger the action once every interval until the event ends.
- Interval: (Webhook events only) When the webhook event occurs, trigger the action once. If "Add bookmark" is selected as an action, it will be triggered with the event start time and end time.
- Settings:
- In the Action page, configure the required settings and click Next. To add multiple actions, click Add.
- Action device: Select Surveillance Station or other types of devices.
- Device: Select the specific device to execute the action.
- Action: Select the action type. (Available actions)
- In the Schedule page, set up the timetable and click Done.
Note:
- Action rule name:
- The action rule name is case sensitive and can contain 1 to 64 Unicode characters, excluding the following symbols: ~ ` ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) = + [ { ] } \ | ; : ' " < > / ?
- The first character cannot be a minus sign (-) or a space; the last character cannot be a space.
- For each triggered rule, you can set at most 5 events and 5 actions.
- Interruptible action rules that use motion detection events or lens control related actions might be triggered repeatedly.
- Certain events and actions may require additional parameter settings.

To add a scheduled action rule:
- Click Add.
- In the Information page, configure the following and click Next.
- Enter the Name.
- Select Scheduled from Rule type.
- In the Action page, configure the required settings and click Next.
- Action device: Select Surveillance Station or other types of devices.
- Device: Select the specific device to execute the action.
- Action: Select the action type. (Available actions)
- In the Schedule page, set up the timetable and click Done.

- Action rule name:

To edit action rules:
- Select an action rule and click Edit.
- Modify the settings and click OK.
To enable/disable action rules:
Select an action rule and click Enable > Enable/Disable.
To delete action rules:
Select an action rule and click Delete.
Action Rule Status
Action rules might show the following alert statuses when the settings are abnormal:
- Disabled: The action rule was manually disabled.
- Invalid: All the included devices have been deleted, disabled, or are abnormal. Or, only some of the devices are abnormal, but the Logical operator is set to AND. None of the actions will be executed.
- Partial Invalid: Some of the event/action devices or settings are abnormal, and the Logical operator is set to OR. Only valid actions will be executed.
