List overview
We have tested and verified the compatibility of third-party products and peripherals on the "Synology Products Compatibility List" (hereinafter referred to as "List"). You can select your Synology product and device type to view all the tested and verified devices and further click Incompatible Models to check the devices that are tested to be incompatible.
Available device categories are as follows:
- Expansion Unit
- HDD/SSD
- IP Camera
- M.2 SSD via M2D18 (M2D17)
- M.2 SSD via Internal Slot
- PCIe Network Interface Cards
- RAM Module
- SPF+ Module/DA Cable
- UPS
- USB Storage Device
Compatibility issues
If you use incompatible devices, or devices that are not on the List, it may result in the following issues:
- The system cannot detect the device.
- The system cannot always detect the device.
- The system is unstable.
- Unexpected problems arise.
If problems regarding product compatibility occur when you use an untested device, Synology Technical Support may not be able to offer you any assistance. Therefore, be sure to choose the compatible ones on the List for your Synology products and pay attention to the notices in each category.
Notes:
- The tests conducted in Synology labs cannot cover every usage scenario, and that any changes to the device firmware or hardware may affect the compatibility and stability. Synology does not guarantee the compatibility of the third-party products and peripherals on the List and reserves the right to update and change the List at any time without prior notice.
