To be fully supported with the new features, it is recommended to upgrade your Synology DiskStation with DSM 3.0-1137 or onward.

  1. Event Player: Video recordings stored on Surveillance Station for each live view cameras are now viewable on the VS60. Browsing recording selections through out the day is operated via a Timeline slider.
  2. Multiple Channel Live View: Concurrent multi-channel live view is now expanded to 9 channels for more complete coverage.
  3. H.264 Support: With the newly added H.264 compression for live view streaming and event playback, VisualStation now supports 3 video codec: MJPEG, MPEG-4, H.264.
  4. Quick System Boot-up: System efficiency is enhanced for achieving shortened boot-up time and screen load up process.
  5. Enhanced performance and stability: Live view performance is further tuned and optimized to accommodate the wide range of supported cameras.

Special Notes

  1. H.264 decoding throughput is 45FPS for 4,6 channels (D1).
  2. H.264 decoding throughput is 60FPS for 9 channels (CIF).
  3. H.264 compression is only supported on camera’s baseline profile.
  4. MPEG4 compression is only supported on camera’s simple profile.
  5. The maximum camera resolution supported on VS60 for 4, 6 channel is D1 (640480 in VGA, 720480 in NTSC, 720x576 in PAL)
  6. The maximum camera resolution supported on VS60 for 9 channel is CIF (320*240 in VGA, 352x240 in NTSC, 352x288 in PAL)

The VS60 once upgraded to 1.1-0059 must work with Synology DiskStation with DSM version DSM 2.3-1154 onward.

  1. Added the capability to be managed by Synology DiskStation in a different sub-net.
  2. Enhanced system efficiency and shortened the boot-up time.
  3. Enhanced live view performance and stability.
  4. Enhanced general compatibilities with IP cameras including audio streaming and large size image handling.
  5. Enhanced the connectivity with Synology DiskStation in link aggregation mode.
  6. Added IP and MAC addresses on "Information" dialog.

Special Notes

  1. Once the VS60 is set up on Synology DiskStation, the VS60 network setting can no longer be edited, until it is removed from the list and reinstalled.
  2. The maximum camera resolution supported on VS60 is D1 (720x480 in NTSC, 720x576 in PAL)
