How do I set up Edge Recording in Surveillance Station?
Details
Edge recording allows you to use a camera's SD card as the backup storage when connection is unstable. Once the connection resumes, recordings will be automatically retrieved and merged back to Surveillance Station. You can also set up a retrieval schedule to control network bandwidth.
Resolution
Make sure edge recording is supported with your camera. If not, the tab does not appear in Surveillance Station.
- Go to IP Camera. Select your camera and click Edit.
- Go to Edge Recording > Camera Storage and select Enable edge recording to record and store videos to the camera storage.
- Select a Recording Mode and set up the Frequency and Time to record.
- Configure the settings under Recording.
- Go to the Retrieve Videos tab and select Retrieve videos from the camera storage.
- Select a Video retrieval method.
- Retrieve when connection is restored: Recordings will be retrieved automatically when the connection resumes.
- Retrieve on schedule: Recordings will be retrieved at the times the schedule below allows. Please drag your mouse across the timetable to set a schedule.

Notes:
- Please use SD cards certified by your camera manufacturer to prevent possible retrieval issues.
- Scheduled retrieval is currently not supported for ONVIF edge storage.
