Today, I have been giving gracious thanks and praises to the Synology company and staff. I was completely BLOWN AWAY today by some unexpectedly awesome customer service that could only be described as above and beyond the call of duty - I was treated respectfully and professionally when I should have been beaten about the neck and shoulders for being a complete idiot, and they SAVED THE DAY for me so, so quickly, and humbly. I have no idea how to ever thank you guys for your amazing service, but for what you did for me today, I will shout praises from the rooftops forever. THANK YOU so much. I'll be your customer and saleman for life.

I've had my Synology DS212j for almost two years, and it's been fantastic for file storage and backup. It's very convenient having a secure central location for all of my files and media that all my devices can connect to. I really like the latest DSM 5.0 update, especially the Chromecast support. DS video makes it so easy to browse the media on my phone and stream to my Chromecast. If only there were Windows 8 apps so I could use my tablet to connect and stream! I have been very satisfied with my Synology NAS, and anticipate passing mine on to my brother and upgrading in the future. Keep up the great work!

I have had my NAS for two weeks now. It is the DS414 and I have installed 4 x 2TB WD Red NAS drives. I am very happy with this. The whole system, hardware and software is first rate. The software is well written, stable and just works. You also have good quality documentation and help. This is also the first NAS I have had with sufficient horsepower to drive everything quickly and even photo thumbnails come up quickly. The dual core Armada XP chip is a good choice. The only noise coming from the NAS is from the hard drives when it is working hard. It also goes into hibernate and out again without any issues. I have a NAS from another brand also but I had trouble on that hooking up to Time Machine. It is also much slower although then again it is a 4 year old NAS. Overall the Synology software is better in my opinion. I have also hooked it up locally to a UPS and again once hooked up via USB, it recognises it even though it isn't on your recommended list. I use this for backups from three windows PCs, a MacBook, I'm also using iOS applications for photos along with the Photo and Video Station. I'm about to enable remote access as well. Anyway, these things don't just happen, they're the result of blood, sweat and tears. I was a software engineer so I appreciate this.

My Synology experience continued to impress for a good year after initial purpose. I've turned over so many tasks to this box through third party apps, it's really simplified things a lot. And the power savings vs. my previous server paid for the cost of the NAS in a year (280W server replaced by 41W NAS at $0.36/KWH in California)

I would like to send my warmest thanks to the customer support at Synology. My 7 year old synology device had a fan failure and it was not possible to find a matching fan for it. I loved that old device and used it for my kids, so i did a last attempt and contacted customer support. I got really fast response and a lot of help, and now a few weeks later my old synology device has a new fan after they took the time and effort to track it down for me. Value of the device is almost non-existant as it doesnt support large disks, but it has done an important job in my home to store digital pictures of 3 kids and a lot more. However somewhow it won our hearts as a device we would depend on, and for the kids its "always" been there for their things. So thanks again, and you just confirmed my trust in your products and company.
