Installing Synology ChatPlus Server

Please read the following before installing this beta software

  1. For evaluation only - This beta software is for evaluation purposes only and should not be installed on critical equipment or in production environments. We strongly recommend reading the Release notes section before installing it. Synology cannot be held responsible for any damages, such as accidental data loss, caused by this beta software.

  2. Not downgradable - After installation of this beta application, you will not be able to downgrade to a previous official version of this software.

To install the beta software on your Synology NAS

  1. Log in to DSM using an account belonging to the administrators group.
  2. Open Package Center.
  3. Now you should be able to find and install packages that currently have a beta version available and compatible with your Synology NAS for public testing.
  4. You can also contact Synology Support to report issues or suggestions via the Package Center by navigating to Installed > Synology ChatPlus Server > Contact Support.

Important Note

  1. This release is part of the Beta program.
  2. This is the initial release of Synology ChatPlus.

Compatibility & Installation

  1. Synology ChatPlus 1.0.0 requires DSM 7.3 or later.
  2. Supports migrating data from Synology Chat through Synology ChatPlus Admin Console. Back up your Synology Chat package data before starting the migration.
  3. Synology Meet 1.0.0, Synology Application Service 1.9.0, Node.js v22, and Universal Viewer 1.5.0 must be installed before installing Synology ChatPlus.
  4. Synology Chat must be stopped before installing Synology ChatPlus because the two packages cannot run at the same time.
  5. Synology ChatPlus mobile apps are available for Android and iOS.

Synology ChatPlus Admin Console

  1. Supports managing teams and channels, assigning roles, and archiving teams and channels.
  2. Supports configuring users' permissions to edit or delete messages.
  3. Supports configuring users' permissions to upload and download files and setting the maximum file upload size.
  4. Supports configuring default notification settings for channels.
  5. Supports configuring users' permissions to add incoming webhooks, outgoing webhooks, slash commands, and bots.
  6. Allows administrators to edit, enable, and disable integrations.
