Synology® and Symform® Team Up to Protect Data in the Cloud
Taipei, Taiwan—September 20, 2012—Synology® today announced a new partnership with Symform, a revolutionary cloud storage and backup service, to provide users with an alternative way to backup data. By installing the SymformBeta package from Synology Package Center, users can receive 10 gigabytes of free storage from the Symform Cloud Storage Network, a globally distributed, peer-to-peer cloud storage network.
“Data protection is a top business concern for users who turn to Synology NAS servers for primary local backup,” said Wayne An, Product Manager of Synology Inc. “Our partnership with Symform and their distributed storage model is ideal for our community, and we believe it will bring added value to our users.”
“The cost of remote backup is one of the biggest challenges facing businesses today, even though data protection is the top IT priority for most companies. As a result, we're making it easy and free to extend critical data in NAS devices to the Symform Cloud Storage Network,” said Margaret Dawson, vice president of product management and marketing at Symform. “Synology is a great partner to team up with on this offer because they understand the importance of keeping data safe and making data backup fast, reliable and affordable.”
With Synology NAS servers and the Symform cloud data backup, SMBs can follow data backup best practices with secure, reliable local backup combined with secondary, remote backup.
