Synology Opens Wiki on Official Site

Taipei, Taiwan—October 17, 2007—Synology announced that its Wiki site is available from the corporate website today. All Internet users can link to the Synology Wiki (http://forum.synology.com/wiki/index.php/Home) and are welcome to contribute their product experience and ideas on how to use the Synology products.

Since its NAS product line was launched, Synology has gained quite the popularity as evidenced by the community forum, where more than 3,000 users and 20,000 articles are available since the forum was opened in November 2006. By launching the Synology Wiki, "We would like to take one step further in providing a platform where novice users can learn how to use their Synology products quickly, while having the ability for power users to help other users maximize the potential of Synology products with advanced techniques and skills", said Synology Product Manager, Edward Lin. "Synology products are aimed to provide users with an innovative way to store, collect, and share their digital content. We are convinced the Synology Wiki can help users quickly make best use of Synology products."

Synology Wiki now provides sections which include Basic Product Introduction, Basic User Instruction, User Reported Compatibility list, System Maintenance how-to's, Modification how-to's, and others. Currently it has detailed instructions for setting up popular "Photo Station 2 + video" to share photos and videos through the Internet. It also has instructions for installing the popular SlimServer on Synology products. "We expect more quality content to be added as more users join the Synology Wiki," Edward Lin said.

Currently Synology Wiki is offering English interface only, and the Chinese interface is in the plan.
