Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat is mesh Wi-Fi and what are the benefits of using it?
Mesh Wi-Fi is a whole-home Wi-Fi system that enables multiple routers to work together, providing wider and more reliable network coverage under a single Wi-Fi name.
How do I set up a Wi-Fi mesh network?

You will need at least two Synology Routers, one to function as the main unit and others as Wi-Fi points (see table for details). Setup is quick and easy and can be done through a web browser or the DS router mobile app. Refer to the following guide for detailed instructions.

Notes:

  1. Maximum wireless transmission rates for 2.4GHz and 5GHz radios are 600Mbps and 2400Mbps respectively. Actual wireless data throughput, wireless coverage and maximum quantity of connected devices are not guaranteed and will vary as a result of client devices, network conditions, and environmental factors.

  2. Dependent on local wireless regulations and client-side implementation.
