Advanced
To modify advanced or additional file service settings, you can go to Control Panel > File Services > Advanced. The following options are available.
Advanced
- Enable File Fast Clone to save storage space while making file clones on your Synology NAS.
- Enable Bonjour to make your Synology NAS discoverable via Bonjour service on the network.
- Enable SSDP to make your Synology NAS discoverable via Simple Service Discovery Protocol services on the network.
TFTP
- Enable TFTP (Trivial File Transfer Protocol) service to allow your Synology NAS to transfer boot loaders to client devices.
Shared Folder Sync
- Enable Shared Folder Sync and create tasks to synchronize the shared folders from your Synology NAS to other Synology NAS devices.
Bypass Traverse Checking
- The Bypass traverse checking function ignores all traverse permission settings of the intermediate directories in the file path. Using a full file path, users may directly access files or subfolders for which they have permission via file sharing protocols (SMB, AFP, NFS, or FTP). Enabling this function saves administrators the need to set individual traverse permissions for intermediate directories.
