Synology® Releases Synology DSM 3.0 OS and Time Backup Application Update
Taipei, Taiwan—Oct 25, 2010—Synology® Inc. today released DiskStation Manger 3.0 (DSM 3.0) update version DSM 3.0-1354 to support Windows® roaming users profile, and 99 more IP cameras, along with other enhancements. Synology Time Backup is also updated to support volume with size over 2TB and backed up files with Windows ACL privileges.
Windows roaming user profiles is now supported to allow users to have a consistent desktop experience from any PC in a Windows environment. 99 more IP camera models from Sony, Panasonic, Messoa, and other brands are added to the support list, making the total over 700. Other enhancements include supporting of individual partition formatting on external hard drives, enhancing the compatibility with CS5 Photoshop when saving the files via samba, upgrade of PHP to 5.3.3, and fixing the issue of uploaded files inheriting the ACL privilege from its parent folder.
Synology Time Backup is now updated to support backing up volume with size over 2TB and files with its corresponded Windows ACL privilege. The maximum backup tasks have also been adjusted according to different Synology DiskStations.

DSM3.0-1354 applies to DiskStation 11-series, 10-series, 09-series, 08-series, and 07-series DiskStation models and is available for free download at: http://www.synology.com/support/download.
