Synology® Releases DSM 2.0 Update to Support the Latest Sony PS3 Firmware
Taipei, Taiwan—November 17, 2008—Synology® Inc. today announced an update of Disk Station Manager 2.0 featuring that NAS products support the latest Sony PS3 firmware 2.50. This update also enhances usability and compatibility of the product.
"Since Sony PS3 released its firmware 2.50, we've received numerous requests from our users to have their Synology NAS products support it accordingly," said Rosiel Lee, product specialist of the Synology Disk Station Manager 2.0. "We are glad to know that more Synology users are using the Sony PS3 through Synology NAS' multimedia server function, and immediate actions have been taken to update our firmware to assure quality of Sony PS3 streaming."
The update version is DSM 2.0-0728, and applies for Synology's x06, x07, x08, x09, and DS-101j NAS models. Other improvements include:
- Enhanced HDD hibernation mechanism.
- Enhanced external USB storage compatibilities.
- Enhanced Photo Station security and usability.
- Enhanced eMule download usability.
- Enhanced Download Redirector usability with username which contains a space.
- Enhanced Local Backup volume space management.
Availability
The Synology Disk Station Manager 2.0 v.0728 firmware update is shipped with all new Synology NAS products from now on. It is also available for free download at http://www.synology.com/support/download for models that have already been shipped to Synology users.
