Installing Synology MailPlus

IMPORTANT: Please read the following before installing this beta software.

  1. For evaluation only - This beta software is for evaluation purposes only and should not be installed on critical equipment or in production environments. We strongly recommend reading the Release notes section before installing it. Synology cannot be held responsible for any damages, such as accidental data loss, caused by this beta software.

  2. Not downgradable - After installation of this beta application, you will not be able to downgrade to a previous official version of this software.

To install the beta software on your Synology NAS
  1. Log in to DSM using an account belonging to the administrators group.
  2. Open Package Center.
  3. Now you should be able to find and install packages that currently have a beta version available and compatible with your Synology NAS for public testing.
  4. Remember to click from Installed > Feedback to help us out and report any issues or suggestions.

  1. Synology MailPlus contacts will be automatically migrated to Synology Contacts upon updates.

What's New

  1. Supports personal blacklist and whitelist to block spam emails sent from malicious senders and receive emails from trusted senders.
  2. Enhanced performance of expanding an email thread with multiple embedded pictures.
  3. Improved the login speed of Synology MailPlus.
  4. Moved Admin Settings from Synology MailPlus client to Service > MailPlus Client in Synology MailPlus Server.

Fixed Issues

  1. Fixed the issue where email attachments might not display properly when users replied to an email in a shared mailbox.
  2. Fixed the issue where emails from senders in the whitelist might be recognized as suspicious emails.

To install the beta software on your Synology NAS
  1. Log in to DSM using an account belonging to the administrators group.
  2. Upgrade DSM version to 6.2 or above.
  3. Open Package Center.
  4. Go to Settings > Beta.
  5. Check the box marked Yes, I want to see beta versions!
  6. Now you should be able to find and install packages that currently have a beta version available and compatible with your Synology NAS for public testing.
  7. Remember to click from Installed > Feedback to help us out and report any issues or suggestions.
