Synology® Launches Latest Scalable RackStations, RS812+ and RS812RP+
Bellevue, Washington—Synology America Corp. today announced the release of its latest RackStation network attached storage (NAS) servers the RS812+ and RS812RP+. The high-performance 4-bay 1U servers are designed to scale to up to 8 drives when using an RX410 expansion module.
The updated RackStations are designed with performance and uptime in mind. Passive cooling on the CPU eliminates a potential point of failure. The adaptive fan speed compensates to keep the system running in the event of a fan malfunction. The RS812RP+ uses redundant PSUs to further improve uptime.
“The new RackStations are designed to meet the needs of small and medium business users,” said Jason Bonoan, Product Marketing Manager at Synology America Corp. “When you combine the emphasis on maintaining uptime with the performance, and the robust feature set of DiskStation Manger 4.0, it really makes a strong value proposition.”
Both models have been clocked with read/write speeds of 205MB/s and 176MB/s respectively with link aggregation. The dual NIC configuration support LAG, MPIO, failover, and multiple LANs. Shipping with DiskStation Manager (DSM) 4.0, they bring a suite of tools for businesses, including support for virtualization. They are compatible with VMware®, Hyper-V® and Citrix®.
Other business-friendly features include:
- ADS support up to 100,000 users and groups
- ACL support for granular, file-level control
- VPN server/client included
- LUN backup software included at no additional cost
- Granular notification system via email, SMS, and push notifications
- Antivirus package
