As Synology MailPlus and MailPlus Server cover all of the key functionalities, Synology will be discontinuing support for Mail Station and Synology Mail Server on January 28, 2026.

Synology is announcing that support for the PetaSpace package will be discontinued in future versions of DiskStation Manager (DSM), beginning with the next release after DSM 7.2.2.

To provide a more secure and stable system environment, Synology will end support for the following PHP versions in the next DSM release:

Node.js v14 and v16 will no longer be supported starting from the next version of Synology DSM. After upgrading to the next DSM version, please install the latest Node.js version from Synology Package Center.

As a part of Synology's strategic update, C2 APAC-TW will focus on serving existing customers and assisting them in expanding their current plans to ensure optimal performance and connection quality. Starting January 1st, 2025, new C2 service subscribers will have the option to select either the Europe or U.S. data centers.

As support for video codecs is widespread on end devices such as smartphones, tablets, computers, and smart TVs, Synology is launching a strategic transition to offload media processing to client devices in all versions of DiskStation Manager (DSM) and BeeStation OS to enhance system efficiency.

DSM 6.2 will reach the end of the Extended Life Phase on October 1, 2024. After which, DSM 6.2 and related packages or applications will no longer receive functionality, security, and package updates. Synology's technical assistance will also become more limited for devices still running DSM 6.2.

Due to the widespread compatibility of AAC-encoded content with most end devices, such as smartphones, tablets, computers, and smart TVs, server-side AAC transcoding has become redundant and resource-consuming. Therefore, Synology will discontinue support for AAC transcoding applications in all DSM versions from 1 August 2023.

As the third-party software packages listed below have reached End-of-Life status, Synology will remove their installation files from our official website and from distribution from 31 August 2023.

Due to changes in our licensing agreements, Synology will remove certain software packages and utilities from our official website and from distribution from 31 August 2023.

Node.js v12 will no longer be supported starting from Synology DSM 7.2 Beta. After upgrading to DSM 7.2, please install the latest Node.js version from Synology Package Center.

Synology announces the End of Life for iTunes Server add-on package on DiskStation Manager (DSM). Starting from 9 March 2023, device owners using DSM 7.2 and above will no longer be able to download and install iTunes Server from Synology Package Center.

On Synology Routers — Cloud Station Server, Cloud Station Drive, and Cloud Station Backup will no longer be supported on SRM 1.2 and below on February 17, 2023. The above packages will no longer be available for download through the Synology Package Center.

[Updated May 8, 2023] Due to changes in our licensing agreements, Synology will, from 31 May 2023, remove certain DSM installation files, firmware versions, and software packages from our official website and from distribution. This change may impact owners of Synology systems that have reached end-of-life (EOL) status, as those devices will no longer be eligible for upgrades.

AAC-encoded content can be decoded and natively played back by most end devices, such as smartphones, tablets, computers, and smart TVs. Server-side transcoding of AAC-encoded content has been a redundant and resource-consuming process that was removed starting from DSM 7.1.1.

Synology will be discontinuing support for Synology Cloud Station Server, Cloud Station ShareSync, Cloud Station Drive, and Cloud Station Backup running on the SRM platform. The Cloud Station companion mobile app, DS Cloud will also be discontinued.

Synology announces End-of-Life dates for the PHP 5.6, PHP 7.0, PHP 7.2, and Apache HTTP Server 2.2 packages.

CardDAV Server will be discontinued on the DSM 7.0 platform.

Synology will be discontinuing Java8, Dokuwiki, SVN, Tomcat 7, Moodle, Docker-Redmine, Docker-Gitlab, Docker-LXQt, GLPI, OrangeHRM, osTicket, MariaDB5, Node.js_v8 and PHP Pear on different DSM versions.

Synology will be discontinuing support for Synology Cloud Station Server, Cloud Station ShareSync, Cloud Station Drive, and Cloud Station Backup running on the DSM platform on April 30, 2021. All of these packages will no longer be available for download through the Synology Package Center.

Synology announces the End-Of-Life date for TVMoasaic, DVBLink, and DiXim Media Server. The official end date of software maintenance for DSM 6.2 is scheduled for December 30, 2020. The TVMosaic, DVBLink, and DiXim Media Server packages will no longer be available for download on the DSM 7.0 Package Center. Your existing DiXim Media Server package can still run after upgrading DSM 6.2 to DSM 7.0. However, the future compatibility of the package is not guaranteed.

Synology announces the End-of-Life dates for 31 packages. These packages will reach the official End-of-Life Date in two stages. Packages in Category One will reach the End of Software Maintenance on December 25, 2019. The official open source versions of these packages have reached End-of-Life Date. For packages in Category Two, the End of Software Maintenance is on June 30, 2020. The last day for users to download all these packages from Synology Package Center is June 30, 2020.
