How do I free up space taken by Download Station?

Details

Download Station creates temporary files during downloads, which can consume storage space until they are deleted. To manage these temporary files and free up space, consider the following options:

  • While a download task is active: Manually ending an active download task moves the temporary files to the default destination folder, avoiding additional storage use.
  • After completing a download task: Download Station automatically transfers temporary files to the default destination folder, freeing up space. For BT tasks, temporary files are deleted only after the task is marked "Completed" and meets seeding conditions.
  • Regular checks: Download Station reviews task status hourly. It deletes temporary files of any task removed during these checks. For immediate removal of a deleted task's temporary files, stop and restart Download Station via Package Center.
  • To delete all temporary files: Uninstall Download Station from Package Center and select Delete the items listed above when uninstalling the package. This action will also delete Download Station settings and all download tasks. To preserve your tasks, back them up with Hyper Backup beforehand.

Notes:

  1. Changing the temporary file location during an active task will not affect that task's current temporary files. This change will only apply to new tasks initiated after the adjustment.
