Installing Synology Drive Server
Please read the following before installing this beta software
For evaluation only - This beta software is for evaluation purposes only and should not be installed on critical equipment or in production environments. We strongly recommend reading the Release notes section before installing it. Synology cannot be held responsible for any damages, such as accidental data loss, caused by this beta software.
Not downgradable - After installation of this beta application, you will not be able to downgrade to a previous official version of this software.
To install the beta software on your Synology NAS
- Log in to DSM using an account belonging to the administrators group.
- Open Package Center.
- Now you should be able to find and install packages that currently have a beta version available and compatible with your Synology NAS for public testing.
- Remember to click from Installed > Synology Drive Server > Send Feedback to help us out and report any issues or suggestions.

- This version currently supports installation and use only on the following models: FS3420, FS6420, RS11626xs+, RS3626xs, RS4826xs+, and RS6426xs+.
What's New
- Upgraded the search and indexing architecture to improve overall search performance, stability, and indexing efficiency.
- Added AI Search, allowing users to quickly find files using natural language queries and view relevant content snippets for a more intuitive search experience. Note: This feature requires a compatible NVIDIA GPU.
- Added support for displaying search history and recent file suggestions in the search bar for quicker access to previous searches and recently used files.
- Added quick filters to help users narrow down search results by search scope, file type, and file owner.
- Added filters that intelligently apply search conditions, such as file type and file owner, based on natural language queries for a faster and more intuitive search experience.
- Added a file preview panel that allows users to preview file contents and relevant sections directly from search results, making it easier to find key information without opening files.
- Added support for jumping directly to the corresponding content location from search result snippets, including automatic seeking and playback for audio and video files.

- Improved the encryption and decryption workflow for Synology Office files to preserve personal labels, shared labels, starred status, and sharing links for a more seamless file management experience.
