BeeStation OS 1.5 Beta

DSM Pre-installation

Please read the following before installing this beta software.

  1. For evaluation only - This beta software is for evaluation purposes only and should not be installed in production environments. We strongly recommend reading the Release notes section before the installation. Synology cannot be held responsible for any damage, such as accidental data loss, caused by this beta software.
  2. Not downgradable - After installation, your NAS will not be able to roll back to the previous official version of this software.
For users running the DSM 7.0 Preview Program, the official version of Active insight, Synology Photos, and Secure SignIn apps are now on the app stores. To prevent any compatibility issues, installed Preview version apps must be upgraded via app stores after upgrading to DSM 7.0 Beta.

DSM Installation

To install the beta software on your Synology NAS:

  1. Visit DiskStation Manager 7.0 Beta Download Center to download the latest DSM update to your local computer.
  2. Go to Control Panel > Update & Restore >Manual DSM Update to enter the Manual DSM Update Page.
  3. Click Browse to select the update file.
  4. Click OK to update your DSM. The system will reboot automatically when the update completes.
  5. Go to Support Center from the main menu to help us report any issues or suggestions.

Software Compatibility

Please read the following guidelines before installing the DSM compatible software.

  1. Synology NAS with external network access - DSM packages will automatically be upgraded to its DSM 7.0 Beta compatible version once your DSM has upgraded to DSM 7.0 Beta.
  2. Synology NAS without external network access - Please go to DiskStation Manager 7.0 Beta Download Center for manual downloads.
  3. For Utilities/mobile apps, please go to DiskStation Manager 7.0 Beta Download Center for manual downloads.

BeeStation OS 1.5

What's new

  1. Added support for the BeeCamera app, allowing you to connect Synology CC400W cameras for live monitoring, event detection, and recording (available on BeeStation Plus models only).
  2. Added support for displaying the storage usage of the "TimeMachine" and "Media" shared folders on the "Storage" page.
  3. Added support for configuring which items are backed up, including backing up BeeCamera data to external drives and Synology NAS, and the Plex media library to all supported destinations (BeeStation Plus only).

BeeFiles 1.5.0

Compatibility & Installation

BeeFiles 1.5.0 requires BeeStation 1.5 and above.

What's new

  1. Added support for BeeStation owners to browse BeeCamera recordings and snapshots (available on BeeStation Plus models only).
  2. Added support for opening internally shared links in the BeeFiles mobile app. Users with proper access permissions can now view the linked files or folders on their mobile devices.

Fixed issues

  1. Fixed an issue where the Recycle Bin did not automatically empty after 30 days.
  2. Fixed an issue where copying shared links failed in Safari on macOS.
  3. Fixed an issue where certain files might not be found during search.
  4. Fixed an issue where files shared with a user still appeared on the "Shared with Others" page after the user was removed.

BeePhotos 1.5.0

Compatibility & Installation

BeePhotos 1.5.0 requires BeeStation OS 1.5 and above.

What's new

  1. Support bidirectional data transfer between Google Photos and BeePhotos.

Fixed issues

  1. Fix the issue where copying shared links fails when using the Safari browser on macOS.
