What is the Surveillance Station?
From SynologyWiki
| The Synology Surveillance Station is a new feature that comes integrated with the Disk Station Manger 2.0. It allows the Synology product to become a Network Video Recorder when the Surveillance Station is configured to operate with compatible IP Cameras. This allows Small Offices to have video security of their offices and property. For home users, the Surveillance Station can be used to monitor a home when away on vacation, or monitor the baby-sitter as one is at work. Or alternatively, monitor a construction project while it is on the other side of the world. - Recording Audio is not supported with the Synology Surveillance Station
- PZT (Pan, Tilt, Zoom) is only supported for cameras which have this ability, and have been tested by Synology. For users who want this PZT ability from a Non-Synology tested IP Camera, and are familiar with CGI, JavaScript (to acquire the PZT code from IP Cameras Webpage) and Linux (to modify Surveillance Station config file) can look here for more information
