How to prepare an IP Camera for the Surveillance Station

This guide will cover the basic information which is needed from an IP camera for the Synology Surveillance Station; this guide will be covering the basic install of the Panasonic BB-HCM311A and how to acquire the following information. Please note it appears thus far that all Panasonic cameras use a similar method of setup and acquiring the information needed for the Surveillance Station.
Please consult with the manufacturer's instruction manual on how to acquire the above information, or consult with a Network Technician. |
Step 1:Begin by starting executing the basic camera setup | |
Step 2:Acknowledge the Security Warning | |
Step 3:Select the camera on the list, and click execute | |
Step 4:Select Automatic Setup | |
Step 5:Assign an administrator username and password. Please remember these two pieces of information, as this is necessary for the Synology Surveillance Station | |
Step 6:Re-login after creating the new administrator username and password. | |
Step 7:Click setup and note the IP address of the camera. Please either note this, or change it to another address if needed. | |
Step 8:Click single and right click on the live video feed. From here, click on view image | |

Step 10:Now after acquiring the four pieces of information, proceed with enabling and installing an IP camera for the Synology Surveillance Station |
