Easy to Learn, Easy to Use

With abundant visual aids and well-designed interface, DSM 3.1 has no learning curve. Find your way around with the Quick Start wizard. The enhanced Quick Search Box can be found throughout DSM 3.1. Enter keywords and a list of relevant applications and help articles will start to populate as you type.

The Revamped Control Panel

Control Panel consolidates all system settings where users can easily modify both software and hardware settings. Commonly used functions and the more advanced system setup are therefore separated, providing a cleaner user interface.

Never Get Lost with the "Home" Button

A common user problem for any advanced software program is by browsing too many levels, and too deep inside any program, it may seem like a maze to get out, and one can lose the sense of what he/she was doing in the first place. To help solve this common dilemma, both Control Panel and DSM Help provides the Home button on the navigation bar to allow instant access back to the homepage.

Upload and Task Monitor

Upload Queue on task bar provides quick information of the latest upload tasks, allowing you to better leverage the available bandwidth resource of their DiskStation. Moreover, Upload Queue can be expanded into File Task Monitor for you to check the progress of all uploading and background tasks.

Background Task Notification

When a background task is completed, you will receive an alert in the form of a notification window on the top right corner of the desktop. Therefore, no background task will finish unnoticed, providing more informed multitask user experience.
