The eSATA cable offers sturdy connection for your DiskStation¹ and expansion unit. This plug-n-use connectivity and eSATA 3.0 GB/sec definition allows you to expand an existing volume on the Synology DiskStation, or create an independent volume for backup and storage. Other than that, Synology also offers the Infiniband cable support² that provides high bandwidth connectivity to ensure a seamless transmission between the main and the expansion units.
