Synology DX5 delivers a perfect backup solution for Synology 2009 DiskStation, too. By attaching it to Synology 2009 DiskStation, the plug-n-use connectivity and eSATA 3.0 Gb/sec definition allows users to create an independent volume on the Synology DiskStation as a good backup target.

The HDD hibernation can be manually configured to take effect automatically when the system has been inactive for a period of time. This not only save energy but also extends the lifespan of the hard disk.

Synology DX5 can be directly managed from Synology DiskStation Manager 2.1. No firmware installation is needed.
