Synology Releases DiskStation Manager 3.2 Beta Redmond, Washington- Synology America Corp. today announced the opening of the public beta for DiskStation Manager (DSM) 3.2. This latest release by Synology increases efficiency and brings an improved user experience.
"The DSM 3.2 beta sees Synology continuing its unrelenting drive for improvement," said Franklin Hua, Technical Marketing Manager for Synology America Corp. "The improvements in management flow and centralization alone warrant a release. The mobile enhancements are a welcome addition to this." Efficient Resource Management- DSM 3.2 adds the option to function as part of an existing LDAP environment or to create a new one, acting as a directory services solution. The Syslog server allows administrators to centralize logging for their network. The Remote Folder service allows aggregating various network CIFS shares in one location. ISOs can now be mounted and shared from the DiskStation to speed mass-installations. Enhanced Mobility Options- With DSM mobile, users can manage their DiskStations from Apple iOS devices and Android phones, improving their ability to work on the go. Google Cloud Print support allows printing from anywhere users have network access. AirPrint support is improved to include multifunction printers. Mac Friendly Solution- DSM 3.2 improves interaction with Mac OS X Lion. DSM 3.2 works with Time Machine’s new protocol, continuing Synology’s support for a simple backup solution. Versioning Improvements- Time Backup update allows for file versioning to another DiskStation within the network.
