Which Synology DiskStation supports WOL (Wake on LAN)?

Answer :

Power recovery or Wake on LAN (WOL) is only supported by certain Synology NAS models (see Applied Products below). Support for Wake on WAN requires switches and routers which recognize the Magic Packet.

Once Wake on LAN has been enabled, the Synology NAS server can be powered-on over the local area network or the Internet by using a WOL application. The IP address or DDNS hostname and the MAC address of the NAS server will be required to execute this command. Please note that WOL will only be supported if the NAS server has been properly shutdown and the power-cable remains connected to a valid power source. If power is cut off externally, such as when the power cable is suddenly unplugged, or in the event of an area-wide power failure, WOL will not function.
