Why am I asked to enter user name and password every time I try to access Synology Product?
Under Windows environment, it uses the default guest account for the connection to the Synology Product. The solution for this is to create an exact same account on Synology product that is the same as on Windows.Please follow the instructions provided below to find out the account you are using on Windows.
- Start > Run > command
- Enter set for command
- Check for the "USERNAME" field. In this case, the username is "PM".
- Next, access to the "User" page in the Web Management UI of the Synology Product.
- Create a new account as the one you’ve just determined on Windows.
- Assign Shared Folder Privileges to the account.
- Restart your computer.
