The Synology File Station is a simple web-based file management interface for users to remotely access and manage files online. You can easily upload and organize files on your computer with Internet access. If you have an external IP available or a DDNS account, you can also complete the setup on the management UI and access your Synology NAS Server remotely.

The File station also increases the file transfer efficiency among shared folders. Files no longer require routing through your computer. That means there is no need to keep your computer on 24/7 and data can now be transferred in mere seconds.

As such, Internet file sharing no longer requires advanced FTP knowledge. You can also create user accounts and set up privileges easily on the Management UI. You can define a port number for the customized File Station and directly login to the separate File Station web page. You can also customize the webpage banner for your File Station in your own fashion.
