Download Station 2
A 24/7 BT, FTP, HTTP, NZB, and eMule download center.

One of the most popular Synology applications is the Download Station 2. You can turn off the desktop computer while files are being downloaded/uploaded on the Synology NAS Server. In the brand new Download Station 2, you not only can use the Synology NAS Server as a 24/7 BitTorrent, FTP, or HTTP download center, but also have extra options to download via eMule and NZB news server.

The Synology NAS Server offers supports in BitTorrent uploading autostop task, configurable download/upload rates, BitTorrent port range, the DHT network support, and BitTorrent protocol encryption support. The partial file download from BitTorrent is officially available. You now have more flexibility to select which files to download in a torrent.

In the Download Station 2, you can restrict simultaneous connections from each FTP server. The connections exceeding the limit will be in the waiting mode and resume back to active mode when the previous connections are completed.

The eMule download service is now officially integrated in the Download Station 2. All the functions are similar to other eMule or eDonkey software. All you have to do is connect to any eMule servers on the list and you can start searching right away. You can also configure the upload, download rates and the maximum connections in the eMule settings.

More download configurations are available, including scheduled download time and download order. In addition, you can use the Download Redirector utility to manage your download tasks.
