Backup Solutions

Synology Disk Stations offer solutions to back up in various ways. With Synology's economical and easy-to-use multiple backup solutions, all users can now begin to perform remote backup functions that were originally only available for enterprise environment. Enterprise users can easily incorporate Synology's Network Backup with their backup plan given the high diversity of rsync capabilities. Disk Station Manager 2.1 supports database buck-up further protect the data of Surveillance Station 2 and Photo Station 3.

Desktop Backup

Desktop Backup is a simple backup option by using Synology backup software. Windows PC users can use the Synology Data Replicator 3 to back up desktop data to their Synology Disk Station by choosing one of the three backup modes: Immediate Backup, Sync, and Scheduled Backup.

Local Backup

With the Synology Local Backup function, users not only can back up data from a Synology Disk Station to externally attached USB or SATA drives via USB or eSATA cable, but can also backup from internal shared folders to other shared folders. The newly implanted Local Backup Wizard will guide you through the entire backup process ensuring easy completion.

Network Backup

Network Backup allows you to back up files and data from one Synology Disk Station to another Synology Disk Station (or other rsync-compatible servers) over the network.

With the Encrypted Network Backup option, Synology's Network Backup reaches a higher level of security and privacy protection. Users can encrypt data when a backup task is being processed. So your important data will not be exposed to uninvited guests.

USB Copy

USB Copy allows you to quickly back up your data from an USB storage device, such as an USB flash or USB card reader, to the Synology Disk Station with just one single touch. All you have to do is connect the USB storage device to the USB port on the front panel of the Synology Disk Station, push the Copy button, and then all files kept on the USB storage device will be uploaded to the specified shared folder on the Synology Disk Station.
