Synology DX5 delivers a perfect backup solution for Synology 2009 Disk Station, too. By attaching it to Synology 2009 Disk Station, the plug-n-use connectivity and eSATA 3.0 Gb/sec definition allows users to create an independent volume on the Synology Disk Station as a good backup target.

The HDD hibernation can be manually configured to take effect automatically when the system has been inactive for a period of time. This not only save energy but also extends the lifespan of the hard disk.

Synology DX5 can be directly managed from Synology Disk Station Manager 2.1. No firmware installation is needed.
