Flexible Storage Management

CS407e allows you to create RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, or RAID 6 volume on it. Its flexible storage management allows you to upgrade from Basic to RAID 1, or to assemble with smaller hard drives first, and later on expand the RAID 1, RAID 5, or RAID 6 volume by replacing the existing hard drives with larger ones when budget is allowed. Moreover, you can also expand the RAID 5 and RAID 6 volume by adding a hard drive on the fly.

When the hard drives on CS407e are full, you can expand the storage capacity simply by attaching an external hard drive to the USB port of CS407e.

Home Entertainment in a Box

CS407e allows you to assemble 4 SATA hard drives, and it integrates many fascinating features that enrich your home entertainment.

Download Station 2 turns CS407e into a 24/7 download center. You only need to drag BitTorrent/HTTP/FTP links to Synology Download Redirector, and the files will be transferred to CS407e without your PC being turned on. The web-based Download Manager can further assist you to manage download tasks remotely with a web browser.

Multimedia Service allows you to play photos, music, and video with an UPnP-enabled Digital Media Adapter on TV or audio set.

iTunes Server support lets users on the network directly play music files stored on CS407e without having to download them to the desktop.

Audio Station provides an easy way for you to organize music stored on CS407e and Internet radio stations into playlists, or play your iPod music . By using the Synology Remote, you can remotely control and enjoy the music with connected USB speakers. The directional-free RF signal design allows you to control music freely. Now play the music from anywhere!

Photo Station 3 gives you the freedom to share photos and video clips over Internet without complicated upload steps. Album control ensures you always share photos/videos to the right persons. Visitors can even leave comments on your photos/videos, and you will be notified with an email for each comment. In addition to sharing your photos, you can create and share your own blog.

Synology Disk Station is designed for data storage and sharing among Windows, Mac, and Linux. Seamless file sharing across different operation systems is an effortless process.

Synology File Station 2 offers an innovative user interface with drag-n-drop and right-click capability allowing users not familiar with FTP to easily access files with a web browser.

Synology Disk Station supports two USB printers simultaneously, and the Add Printer Wizard simplifies setup process with a wizard.

Network Backup is designed for you to back up data from CS407e to another Synology product that also supports Network Backup function or rsync-compatible server.

Local Backup allows you to back up data from CS407e to external hard drive attached to CS407e via the USB port.

Desktop Backup simplifies desktop backup with Data Replicator 3. PC users will enjoy the easy-to-use backup tool to back up important data automatically.
