Synology^® Announces The New Synology Disk Station Manager 2.0 Software

Taipei, Taiwan—March 14, 2008—Synology^® Inc. today introduced the all-new Synology Disk Station Manager 2.0 software, ending the beta program started in February 2008, which generated over 4,000 valid applicants and numerous user discussions. The Synology Disk Station Manager 2.0 features the brand new AJAX-based management interface; Surveillance Station, which allows video recording from multiple network cameras both in continuous and motion detection mode; Photo Station 3, the new web sharing application with blogging support; Synology Data Replicator 3, the new worry-free office backup application; and new multimedia streaming support for Sony PS3 and Microsoft Xbox360.

• Surveillance Station: Turn your Synology Disk Station into a network video recorder (NVR) by connecting IP cameras to the network, and recording videos to the Synology Disk Stations.
• Sony PS 3 Support: Sony PlayStation 3 is now supported as a digital media adapter device.
• Microsoft Xbox360 Support: Microsoft Xbox360 is now supported as a digital media adapter device.
• Photo Station 3: Photo Station 3 has a brand new blogging system.
• New Office Backup: Data Replicator 3 provides a worry-free backup option.
• Expandable RAID 5 Volume: Now you can add a new hard drive to expand the RAID 5 volume on the fly. No more volume deletions and re-creations are needed.
• MySQL Update: MySQL is now upgraded to 5.0.51.
• Ez-Internet Enhancement: More DDNS service providers are supported: NoIP.com, 3322.org, and TwoDNS.de.
• Secure SMTP Support: In the email notification settings, you are now able to enter a customized port number and select SSL connection.
• Quick Switch Display Language: You can switch the display language quickly from the management interface without changing the browser settings.
• FTP with SSL/TLS for all models: FTP with SSL/TLS is now supported on all models.
• HTTPS for all models: HTTPS is now supported on all models.
• Encrypted Network Backup for all models: Encrypted Network Backup is supported on all models.
• New Audio Station: Audio Station comes with a brand new, sleek look.

Synology Disk Station Manager 2.0 comes pre-installed on all new Synology NAS products. It’s also available for free download at www.synology.com for most models that have already been shipped to Synology users.
