Backup Your System Settings

Synology's Backup & Restore not only allows you to easily back up data, it also lets you back up your system configurations, ranging from local and domain user, shared folder, file sharing, security settings and more. Backing up system configurations will help businesses ease the efforts during large-scale system migration or system restoration. Here are more settings covered by Configuration Backup:

  • Bandwidth control settings for FTP, WebDAV, User & User Group
  • FTP service settings, including SFTP, SFTP port, timeout and FIPS
  • Recycle Bin settings for shared folders

Automatic Backup

It’s not perfectly secure to just back up your system configurations once. Businesses are constantly evolving and so are the configurations - employee relocation, new projects, and new teams. Synology’s configuration backup allows your business to schedule each backup task so whenever you make a change, it’s being recorded. So depending on how frequently you adjust your system-wide settings, configuration backup can always fit to your schedule.

Customize Restoration

Whenever there is need to back up, there is need to restore. Synology’s configuration backup allows businesses to restore system configurations at three levels. Choose to restore all system configurations when there is a major system upgrade or migration. Or choose to restore only the category of “Users, Groups, and Shared Folders” configurations if the changes made are on the employees and their privileges. If the changes are very specific, for example only the Users configurations are altered, you can also restore it without touching the other settings.
